Emeka Forbes advises the Fairness Foundation on public affairs. He is an experienced senior leader with expertise across policy, campaigns, communications and research. His work focuses mainly on social cohesion and poverty.
He joined the Fairness Foundation as an advisor in December 2023, and holds roles with various non-profits, including as Head of Cohesion at /together - an initiative working to build stronger communities - and is Chair of the anti-poverty charity Z2K.
Emeka also advises the Warm Welcome Campaign, a network of over 4,000 warm spaces established to combat poverty and isolation, and serves as a trustee for Room to Heal, a charity supporting refugees and asylum seekers.
Additionally, he sits on the advisory board of Clean Up the Internet, and is part of various networks including Labour in Communications and Black Politicos. He is an active member of his local Labour Party and a campaigner on anti-racism and social justice, having helped to lead the campaign group Charity So White and frequently speaking and writing in the media about issues including poverty and social cohesion. He also regularly guest lectures on politics and campaigns at Queen Mary University of London.
His previous roles include positions at children’s charity Barnardo’s, Parliament, local government, and several political consulting firms, where he represented clients across technology, education, retail and renewable energy.
Emeka holds an undergraduate degree in Politics and a master’s degree in Social Anthropology and International Development from Birkbeck, University of London.
