The Fairness Foundation is making a small number of desks available at nominal cost to people working on our shared agenda of inequality, on a day-by-day basis, at our office just south of London Bridge. We’re calling this space LEVEL GROUND.
The space
Our office has a large, long central table and five small rooms of varying sizes (two of which are occupied by us). We are making up to six desks per day available for people to come and work alongside us. We also have a small reading area and a kitchen with some high tables.
The location
LEVEL GROUND is five minutes’ walk from London Bridge station and two minutes from Borough tube station. The address is Unit 2, Ground Floor, 1-7 Pilgrimage Street, London SE1 4LL.
Ground rules
- We must know you - if we don’t, we won’t approve the request (you can bring one friend who we don’t know - click the appropriate box on the form)
- You must be working on inequality of some form or another, with at least some focus on the UK, for a non-profit entity (including social enterprises, the public sector and academia)
- We charge £5 per day to cover the cost of teas and coffees, and as a small contribution towards our bills
- We will consider occasional requests to book a meeting room or the central table, with rates to be negotiated case by case (we have a large screen and webcam for hybrid meetings)
- If you book a desk and don’t show up without letting us know, you won’t be invited back (and if you need to cancel, you’ll need to do this 48 hours in advance to get a refund)
- There’s a fair use policy - no more than two people per organisation, no more than four desk/day bookings per organisation per week
- Tidy up after yourself and don’t make a nuisance - if you’re messy or unreasonably noisy, you won’t be invited back!
Book a desk
To sign up, click on a date below; we release slots 4-5 weeks in advance, for Mondays to Fridays, 9.30am to 5.30pm (with the exception of dates when no one is in the office or we are running events or big meetings there).
